This is really another trouble soon after Laila on the eastern coasts. Cyclone Phet is moving at the speed of 90 km per hour towards western cost of India. The latest update is it has changed its path and now it is heading towards coastal areas of Pakistan.
It has already hit Gujarat. There are already visuals on the TV. These visuals show that it has caused some temporary damage to Tata Nano Plant which was inaugurated today. The first Nano car came from this plant today. It is expected that this system would be active for at least 7 days or so. The tropical cyclone PHET is expected to hit Oman first. It is one of the biggest single cyclone so far. Indian weather department has issued severe warning. The MET Dept’s site is down at the moment. Just checked the another resource. Finally Cyclone Phet has vanished. It has left heavy rains in Rajasthan and the flood in many parts. There is no trace of Phet left. Finally it is no longer there visible on the Satellite map. I hope my readers must have found the updates timely and helpful. I end the cyclone Phet update with this post.

Cyclone Phet will leave Pakistan completely in few hours. Now it is entering in Gujarat. As I write these lines, the news has started to come that damage is being reported from the several western cities in Guajarat. From Gujarat, its movement is North-East side and it expected to remain in this area for some more time. People in Gujarat must remain alert.

Cyclone Phet has left Oman and is now centered over Pakistan, having its much of the system on Western Rajasthan and Gujarat as well. The cyclone will become weak today or tomorrow. It has lost its eye and is now scattered form. Cyclone Phet would cease to exist in next 2 days. The system would now go towards eastern side in the form of disturbance. The cities in its path are safer now because it is just going to rain in few places.

Cyclone Phet is not as powerful as it was thought to be in early days. There is news of damage in Oman and the coastal areas are on high alert. Still there is rain in this cyclone. Although the cyclone is losing its strength and is being converted into depression. As per news, The distance from Karachi to Phet is 300 to 400 Km and the cyclone has speed of approx 100 km per hour or so. It is expected to hit Karachi either tonight or early morning tomorrow. Coastal Gujarat must remain on high alert because some of the landfall of cyclone Phet would hit that area as well. Next 24 hours are going to bring more rain and high speed winds. Stay alert and be safe.

According to the BBC news, Cyclone Phet has passed over Oman now. The category has been updated with 2 now. Earlier it was 4. I am looking at 1PM IST satellite image, which shows that it will be over Pakistan in few hours. The cyclone is not powerful now as it was thought to be earlier. Some of it is already touching the western Rajasthan now. There is not much damage in Oman. But the other regions need to be careful.

According to AFP news, Oman is witnessing heavy rains. The latest rating of this cyclone is 3.5, earlier it was 3. It has changed its path slightly. It will hit now Oman and coastal Pakistan in next 24 hours or so. It is not good news. Cyclones affect lives. The affected countries are taking pre-cautions and evacuating the people to safer places. The sat image of 12:00 PM shows that it has moved a little bit. Its speed is 18 km per hour. The winds have speed of approx 180 km. The weather channel and other sources so that it has become stronger and it has long tail which will not weaken easily. Karachi and other cities have the higher risk of Cyclone Phet causing damage.

Cyclone Phet has fixed location for now. It is still touching Oman. The local reports point that it still has no landfall. The current path is towards southern Pakistan. Gujarat and other parts of coastal areas have received the rains from the heading clouds. It is gaining more strength. It will affect the monsoon path.
