El Mundo Deportivo scores above many well known sports sites. Is it coincidence or fair result?

One of my friend told me about the el mundo deportivo and its coverage online. It is surprising to see such a great site coming from Spain.  It clearly an example of the highest reporting procedures which are rare in journalism related to sports.

The first view of the site www.elmundodeportivo.es really makes an impressive impact.  There are very few sports related sites which does not sell anything.   It covers mainly three sports;  Football, Motor and Basketball. The coverage of these sports is pretty extensive and the well written reports in Spanish offer  great details. El Mundo Deportivo is offering the news and views about World Cup 2010.

It is great news site if you look at its content. According to an estimate, the total worth of El Mundo Deportivo is $2.09 million. I would rather rate it much higher. Such sports reporting networks are not made in a day. It takes long time to produce something like that.

And no journalism school teaches how to report sports related events.  El Mundo Deportivo must be having its own training programs to train the people. An average journalist without training in sports related matters, would make several mistakes.  El Mundo Deportivo ‘s hard work is visible on the ground and it has reached to the audiences in many countries.

El Mundo Deportivo must work towards making the English version of its site. Present website is in Spanish and its online translation can be made using Google’s tools.  If you are looking for the well established sports news site, check this one for sure.
