Are Green Homes really green?

Amid the controversies among climate scientists and experts, the green theme is picking up its momentum. Experts are not unanimous on the global warming issues. Some say it is not real while others say its here and showing us its effects.

Green homes may sound good for saving energy and the bills of electricity. What if global warming is not true. Weather data of 2009-2010 points to some interesting facts and some experts are saying the global cooling has started now and it will remain till 2030. What ever is the truth.

Generally, green prefab homes are focusing on making homes more energy efficient but still you need electricity to power your home and a electric generating company has to run its business. Solar homes may present good options for making your home little bit free from the bills. But the solar technology is still costly and many argue that savings are not appropriate to replace the mainstream electricity.

Many companies are marketing their green modular homes in the market and telling the customers that these homes are perfectly green. I think little more scrutiny is needed for these homes. The optimum level of power consumption is the prime case and reasons why someone would buy these costly homes.

Energy efficient homes are good for the people but look at this, all electricity generating companies do have expansion plans and want to sell more electricity to the people. The customers like us, need homes which have good ROI in terms of the savings vs cost of such homes.

Green home plans must include the energy efficient gadgets as well. You need the star rated gadgets which are saving more power. You also need regulators who will see that new gadgets are really green and have the mechanism which would work with less power compared to the other products.

Green building must fulfill its obligations to qualify for the real savings. What about this. We need an authority which can audit the green buildings annually. And someone we need who can certify these green buildings for the parameters.

It is good to see that mainstream companies such as Nokia and others are making the products which are green products and have good options to save the powers as well.

The climate reports may not be true but the green products surely will make this world a better place. The green cars at Geneva Auto Show are pulling crowd and still world needs to see the perfect green car.

Green themes are good for everyone. Let there be something official about it.
